Where the food is genuinely good and the bill doesn't make you wince.

Where you can come on a wednesday for no reason at all and leave feeling like it was worth it.

Lunch

wednesday - sunday from noon. The kind of lunch worth stopping in for.

We bake our own focaccia every morning. From there it becomes sandwiches — proper ones, built around Sher Wagyu MS8-9 brisket and rump, Perfectly cooked chicken, Tassie smoked salmon. The Reuben is the one that first put Banksia on the map. The steak sandwich with chimichurri is the reason people come back.

There's a wagyu beef burger that gets seared, oven finished and kissed on the coals. Swiss cheese, caramelised onions, brioche bun. It's back because you kept asking.

If you're after something healthy - there is always something. poke bowls, grain salads, heirloom tomato with stracciatella, and roasted vegetable plates that will make you believe it shoudl be a guilt pleasure, but it really isn’t. Something for everyone. Nothing that phones it in


Dinner

its Always steak night. Always happy hour.

Dinner at Banksia is simple: pick your main, we fill the table around it. Sides come with. The idea is that you share, you eat well, and you leave full.

Mains are served as a spread at $40 per person. We haven't heard a dietary requirement we couldn't accommodate.

It starts with house baked focaccia and fermented mushroom butter on the table. Then oysters if you want them, tuna tartare, tomato and stracciatella to share while you decide.

The steaks are Sher Wagyu — MS8-9 rump and MS6-7 eye fillet — from Ballan, Victoria, where they've been producing some of Australia's finest wagyu since 1991. The barramundi is fresh, the lamb shoulder is slow cooked overnight, the duck breast is indulgent in the way duck breast should be. The asparagus and basil risotto is the kind of vegetarian dish that doesn't make anyone feel like they're missing out. the chicken is what a health bowl would look like if it grew up and went our for dinner.

The potatoes — steamed, squashed and fried Gippy Golds — are the thing people talk about on the way home.

Happy hour runs always on beers, cocktails and a rotating wine list. There's always a sparkling, a rosé, two whites and two reds. Always something worth drinking.

The Bar

THE BAR IS OPEN FOR WALK-INS AND ONLINE RESERVATIONS.

It’s always happy hour. $12 chandon, $12 cocktails, $8 beers.

cocktails are available in full $24 or half $14 sizes.

BAR SNACKS AVAILABLE

a wide selection of wines by the bottle, by the glass and under coravin.

BANKSIA IS AVAILABLE FOR PRIVATE DINING AND FULL RESTAURANT BUYOUTS. MENUS ARE BUILT AROUND THE OCCASION — wE WORK DIRECTLY WITH HOSTS ON FOOD AND DRINKS THAT SUIT THE EVENT, THE SEASON, AND THE ROOM.
