FAQ’s
Why do you have Weeknight Specials?

We have 2 prices listed for each package - it is $10 cheaper on a weeknight. Weeknights: Monday to Thursday & Weekends (Friday to Sunday). Why? Weeknights are quieter at banksia and we want our prices to reflect that.
Do you have kids options?
Kids meals are $15 per kid - We rotate them regularly but currently have Napoli pasta, barramundi, chicken or wagyu rump - all served with chips. Kids are 13 years or under.

Do all packages allow me to also order any drinks we like from the Bar?

Some people want to be able to order any drinks they like from the bar. That’s totally fine, but we do have to expect it & roster staff accoridnly. This is available only on our premium package. Otherwise the drinks served will be the ones you select when you choose your package.
Will I have a dedicated server for my table?

When we first opened Banksia, because of the places that our team had worked previously, we had guests dine with us & expect the service that they received at Society, or Cutler. They were disappointed with our service. One person even told me recently that they preferred Rockpool to us because they got great service at Rockpool. I also love Rockpool, it’s amazing for a special dinner. But we can’t offer Rockpool service for $50 per person. A chef explained it to me as ‘a 12 person table at a Trader House restaurant would have 1 dedicated server. Just looking after that table’. If that level of service is important to you, please select our package 3.
What size table has to order from the Groups menu?

Tables of less than 8: we have our regular menu
Tables of 8-12 people: we recommend group dining as a smoother experience at a better price point
Tables of 12 or more must order one of these packages.
Why are Friday & Saturday Night seatings limited to 5pm or 745om on Packages 1 & 2 ?

No restaurant will operationally excel if it seats everyone between 630pm to 7pm on a busy night. For that reason restaurants look to smooth out their ‘flow’. Its why you’ll see 615pm as an option when 630pm isn’t. We want the time to seat and look after each table tables throughout the night - not all at once.
This is compounded by the law or large tables. One surprising fact for those who have not worked in hospitality is that it is operationally much harder to serve one table of 15 than 3 tables of 5.
We therefore make sure that on our busy days group seatings are towards the start or the end of the flow. This only applies on Fridays and Saturdays. We of course have flexibility here depending on the night, so if you are not sure, please call Adam on 0423905835 & I can look at the night you are looking to book.
